Problem: Faculty Struggle to Create and Update Visual Content

Oftentimes complex topics can be difficult to understand without the visualizations available through videos. Faculty are challenged to not only single-handedly develop content that is visually engaging, but to also regularly update that content for their students.

Solution: Creation of Ready-made Engaging Videos

Faculty engaged directly with the Diffusion Studios team to create highly engaging videos. Faculty served as script editors and content reviewers during video production. This allowed faculty to exercise professional creativity and adapt their course material for use on the Osmosis platform. Distribution of the content through the Osmosis platform ensures the cobranded material is accessible to more than 1 million students from over 1,400 health science schools around the world.

Result: Saved Faculty and Positive Student Feedback

Students at University of the Pacific like that the videos are short and concise. They reported that the animations are very engaging and a survey of 257 dental students revealed 86% “agreed” or “strongly agreed” that the resources created with Diffusion Studios were “helpful” and 92% perceived the videos as “valuable” for learning.

When asked how the videos support the faculty lectures, students shared:

“The animated videos are helpful in learning topics I do not understand from lectures.”

“Because it adds a visual component to the lecture materials, it’s easier and faster to understand materials than the actual lecture. I also like that I can speed up the video so I can re-watch the materials to review.”
