Problem: Need for Clear, Family-Friendly Health Education
The Primary School wanted to share easy to understand and accurate information about safety during COVID-19 and common children’s health
topics such as asthma and oral health with the families they work with. By doing so, The Primary School unites health, education, and family
support to help overcome barriers to learning and address a child’s full set of needs.
Solution: Collaborative Creation of Simple Whiteboard Animation Videos
The Diffusion Studios and Primary School teams worked together to identify the highest priority health topics to be addressed in videos. The Primary School faulty and health fellow were an integral part of the development process, ensuring the content is relatable to, and meets the needs of the families being served.
Result: Accessible Videos Improve Family Understanding and Break Language Barriers
Complicated medical topics were transformed into easy to follow whiteboard animation videos. The videos were then made available to families to help them gain a better understanding of information important to their children’s health. Select videos were also translated into
Spanish to break down barriers that often are present in patient education resources available in the United States.
